TEK turns 20 with a fresh new look.

2025 marks 20 years since the business began. To celebrate the milestone, we have refreshed the TEK Contracts brand and introduced a new logo.

The story started in 2005, when Chris Snr, Chris and Jackie set up the business delivering small works projects. Within a year we had outgrown our first office and moved to Unit 26, Cobbett Road in Burntwood, where we are still based today. In 2007 the business became TEK Contracts, named after the founders' grandchildren Tiki, Ella and Kobe.

Twenty years on, we are still a family-run business, now delivering design, bespoke joinery and fit-out from our own 14,500 sq ft facility for clients across the UK. The new look reflects who we have become, while the way we work stays the same: one accountable team, from first survey to final handover.

Thank you to every client, supplier and member of the team who has been part of the journey so far.

Introducing Nexvia to manage our projects.

In 2024 we introduced Nexvia as our project management tool.

Every TEK project brings together design, manufacture in our own workshop and installation on site. Keeping all of that coordinated is central to delivering on time and on budget, and Nexvia gives our team a single place to plan and manage each stage.

For our clients, the aim is simple: a better service. Clearer planning and organisation in the office means fewer surprises on site and a smoother experience from start to finish.

It also strengthens our in-house capability, helping the team work more efficiently as the business continues to grow.

New machinery boosts joinery capacity.

In 2022 we made a major investment in our Burntwood workshop, investing in two new Homag edgebanding machines and adding a Drillteq V-310 vertical drilling machine.

Edgebanding gives panels a clean, durable finished edge, and precise drilling is what allows pieces to be assembled accurately and quickly. Upgrading both has increased how much our joinery team can produce and shortened turnaround times.

For clients, that means bespoke counters, display, panelling and furniture made to a consistently high standard, with more capacity to handle larger projects and multi-site roll-outs.

It is the latest step in a long history of investing in the workshop, from launching TEK Joinery with two bench joiners in 2007 to our current 14,500 sq ft facility.

Taking the workshop digital with Microvellum.

In 2020 we invested in Microvellum, software built for joinery manufacturers, to streamline how we draw and produce bespoke joinery.

Microvellum connects our drawing office with the workshop, so the drawings our team creates feed directly into production. Fewer manual steps between design and manufacture means fewer chances for errors and a quicker route from approved drawing to finished piece.

It was a key step in taking the workshop digital, and it set the foundations for the machinery investments that followed.
